In July 2010, collision/theory and Highways Performance Space co-presented a workshop version of Blood Red Lost Head Dead Falcon: THE NIBELUNGEN, as part of the Los Angeles Ring Festival. Michael Manning’s illustrated graphic novel The Nibelungen (Sum Legio International, 2010) served as a primary visual inspiration for the piece. Michael designed the costumes in collaboration with Nike Schroeder, Molly Marie McGee and Julie Lockhart. The show was written and directed by Aaron Henne and produced by Lyn Gaza. The cast consisted of Julie Lockhart as Brunhild, Paul Vroom as Hagen, Garth Whitten as Siegfried, Mark McClain Wilson as Gunther, and Diana Wyenn as Kriemhild.
